It's party time! We have much to celebrate and be grateful for as 2017 draws to a close. We have been honoured to bring you visiting feminist lectures, film screenings, writing workshops, open mic nights, storytimes in Spanish, hormonal health workshops, to name a few of our highlights over the year. The Vancouver Women's Library has grown to over 400 members, with over 2000 titles in our collection, in an ever-growing array of languages to reflect the beautiful diversity of our community.
We welcome all members, volunteers, and the public to join us in our winter celebration and end-of-year festivities! This is an opportunity to meet and connect with other members and volunteers, enjoy great conversation, and share gorgeous food.
Speaking of food, we will be doing this potluck-style! We will have curries, baked goods, hummus, muhallabieh... If you would like, please feel free to bring a snack or two, drinks, and your best holiday spirit to share! To reduce waste, we ask that everyone bring their own plate, utensil, and cup!
We will also be collecting any extra jackets, clean socks, and warm blankets you may have for women in need in our community, and donating any remaining items to local women's shelters. Please bring these along with you to the party if you can.
The Vancouver Women's Library is wheelchair accessible. We apologize that our universal single-stall washroom is currently not accessible as it does not have a railing/bar. There is ample free street parking along Kingsway and in side and back streets!
We humbly honour and recognize the unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh traditional territories in which we are privileged to work, live and organize.
